It is one of the oldest processes for recovering used rubber products. In general, regeneration is applied to used tyres with textile inserts, but obviously where technically and economically efficient grinding processes are available. Reclaimed rubber can also be obtained from tyres with metal inserts. The development of radial tyre production has severely limited the possibilities for reusing reclaimed rubber, with a reduction in the amount of reclaimed rubber worldwide in recent years.
